David Batchelor came in today to give a talk on his work. he was also showing artwork in our black box
Last year I used Batchelor’s writings in his books ‘Chromophobia’ and ‘Colour’ to help me in my own use of colour. it was fascinating to hear Batchelor’s own options from himself and hearing of how he went from a completely white studio space to the colourful works he is known for today including a look at a upcoming exhibition.
After the talk I had a talk with him where I thanked him for the help his books gave me in the previous year. starting a conversation where we talked about colour, an obsession we both share
